Ameren TRANSMISSION SURSEE-AVISTON TRANSMISSION PROJECT Improving energy reliability in your community Thank you to everyone who participated and provided input during our two phases of engagement for the Sursee-Aviston Transmission Project. The Sursee-Aviston Transmission Project is a new 15-mile, 138 kV transmission line and associated facilities that will improve grid reliability for local customers in the city of Highland and the Madison, Clinton and St. Clair County area. In April 2023, Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI) submitted an application to the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the Project. On November 7, 2024, the ICC approved a final route and issued a CPCN for the Sursee-Aviston Transmission Project. The new transmission line construction is expected to begin in Spring 2026 and is anticipated to be in- service by the end of 2026. With a final route approved, landowners are now being contacted by the Sursee-Aviston Transmission Project team to begin discussions about real estate and field studies. This important milestone in the project process is dependent upon open communication and lays the foundation for the future phases of construction.
